Well, according to that famous groundhog, we will have an early Spring. We will believe it when we see it!

In the meantime, we will continue to offer one white and three red wines for our chilly weather tastings. This week we have two new French wines, a lovely new Malbec from Argentina and a juicy Tempranillo from Spain. That ought to warm you up!
Our first wine blends 60% Sylvaner, 15% Muscat, 15% Auxerrois and 10% Chasselas to make a lovely white with flavors of quince, tart lime, and citrus rind. Crisp, light, minerally, and sophisticated, this wine goes great with seafood.
We will follow with a 100% Tempranillo from the Ribera del Duero region of Spain. On the palate it is well balanced with notes of jam and fruit. Its finish is smooth and elegant. Great with barbecue!
Our second new wine is a Malbec from Argentina. Rated highly by both Wine Spectator (86 points – Best Value) and Wine Enthusiast ( 88 points – Best Buy), this Malbec has ripe plum and violets in the nose, with hints of vanilla. The palate is pleasing fruit that mimics the aroma. Soft and supple, this lovely selection has a lingering finish.
Our final wine – also new – is from the southern French Languedoc region. This red blend of mostly Syrah, with Grenache and Mourvedre, has effusive spicy notes on the aroma and lush, fresh flavors of raspberry and red plum that turn quite creamy.
