Wine Tasting at Market Wines at Findlay Market – February 19 & 20, 2011

Since the weather is warming up (it is, REALLY!), we have decided to taste two whites and two reds this weekend.

We will begin with a new Riesling/Muscat blend from Australia – fresh, bright, citrusy, lightly sweet and a little spritzy on the tongue, this is the perfect dessert wine or aperitif.  It will make you think of summer – we guarantee it!

Our second wine is also new – an Orvieto from Italy.  On the nose it is fruity and fragrant with hints of wild mint and herbs.  This dry white wine pairs wonderfully with  fish or cheese dishes.

Third on the menu is a Pinot Noir from
Oregon.  The grapes are blended from from vineyards in both the renowned Willamette Valley and the Umpqua Valley. Each of these regions imparts its own distinctive style and you will taste it in this wonderful wine!

Our final wine is a C.M.S. (Cabernet, Merlot and Syrah) blend from Washington state.  Black cherry and licorice dominate the palate with dried herbs and mineral notes during the finish.
