Once again, a chilly winter weekend is upon us…so that means we are tasting one white and three red wines.  But, the great news is that three of those wines are new to the shop!

   VinumCheninViognier

To start, we are sampling an interesting California blend of Chenin Blanc and Viognier.  An excellent choice for Thai Curries or Indian food due to its high natural acidity and floral/clove character, it is a very refreshing wine.    Buy a bottle today and put it away for a summer celebration!

We will follow with a new blend from Spain’s Jumilla region.  A blend of Monastrell, Cabernet and Syrah, this earthy, fruit forward wine would be wonderful with many Mediterranean dishes and is a great value!

Our third new wine is a French southern Rhone blend of mostly Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre, and Carignan.  Filled with aromas of very ripe fruit, and leather and herbs, the taste of this wine is is sensual and is distinguished by a good balance of freshness.  Great with roast chicken or beef.

Our final wine is not new to the shop but is one we haven’t tasted yet.  This full-bodied dry Italian red is mostly Sangiovese grapes and has layers of flavor with a balanced acidity.
