Weekly Wine Tasting at Market Wines – September 18 & 19, 2010

We don’t usually have a specific theme for our tastings, but looking at this week’s offerings, you could definitely say we are offering some amazing wines at amazing prices.
First is a Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand’s Marlborough region – a crisp blend of intense tropical fruit, vibrant citrus and refreshing acidity.

Since we are getting more into the cooler months, we are tasting three red wines this weekend.  The first is a red blend from Spain – perfect for pairing with Fall stews or meat paellas!  The second is a wonderfully priced (only $11.99) Super Tuscan that is 85% Sangiovese, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Merlot. We will finish with a California red blend of Petite Sirah, Old Vine Zinfandel & Old Vine Mourvedre…a limited edition wine that will only be around until we sell out!

Weekly Wine Tasting at Market Wines – September 4 & 5, 2010

Why not start your long Labor Day  weekend with us?  We are featuring all new wines this Saturday & Sunday; all with very reasonable price points for your weekend festivities!

First on the menu is a Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc that was recently featured on the “Today Show” as the perfect wine to beat the heat by Food & Wine Magazine’s Wine Guide 2010. (that segment also happens to feature our Famega Vino Verde as another tasty thirst quencher).  We have one French wine on the menu – a nice, dusky  Rose that pairs well with grilled meats, fruit, cheese or many picnic favorites.  We also have a new California Pinot Noir which, according to the Wine Enthusiast (March 2010), feels “rich and silky in the mouth, with flavors of raspberries, cherries, cola and spices.”
Finally, we will finish with French oak barrel aged Merlot – red berry and plum flavors along with notes of espresso and cassis and a lingering finish to pair well with grilled meats and game. Hope to see you this weekend!  Saturday and Sunday; 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.  $5 to taste all four.
